“We are a team, homegrown in El Paso. We’ve seen our city grow over the past several years, and want our city to grow even more while preserving the rich history of our region at the same time. Culture is defined as the “customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group.” Here along the Border, our culture is not defined by just one community, but by countless. From the Mestizo to the Mescalero, to the Spanish, the Texans, the Tiguas, and the rugged cowboys and ranchers who roamed the land. Today, sub-cultures are more relevant, such as the proud Mexican-Americans who have family on both sides of the Border, the farmers tending to their land and animals in the upper and lower valleys, the vast military community that lives in the region due to Fort Bliss, and the many other cultural groups in between. 

             We think Keeping our local El Paso Culture Alive is of the utmost importance- to shine a light on not one, but many, or all of the groups we mentioned above. That’s why our goal is to work with local El Pasoans on improving areas across our city, and to make El Paso a thriving center for tourism, business, manufacturing, and families. We at KCA understand there are many different types of cultures and communities here in El Paso. Whether you are young or old, we hope to find a culture or community that you are interested in, and shine the light on it that it deserves.”
